Web Weaver Path

- Stock Photo

About two years ago Linda Brakenhoff ( Spingodin and Doulapraktijk Matres ) met in Gouda during a women's circle . The evening was about Vrouw Holle and something clicked between us, threads were spun that would grow into a very nice cooperation. I had been working with the Matrons for a while and the more I was involved with the Three Ladies, the more they showed me threads, weaving and spinning tops. They led me to the ancestors, the ancestor cult, Old Europe and old women's crafts. Linda herself spun and dyed her own threads with Spingodin for years and trained as a Doula. Closely connected with birth, the giver of life, she was also connected with the spinning of new life and the threads in which the Three Ladies had also entwined me ... This made us start discovering sparkles, wool and different textiles in ritual context and we developed the workshop " Spinning Women ". This was a huge success, spinning in a circle with other women was a truly magical experience that touched very old, deep women's secrets. From this was born the need to go deeper into this, with so much more ritual textile work, that the Way of the Web weaver was born. Web weaving has not only to do with making clothes or other textiles, but also with life itself. Life is a Web, in which everything is connected and we all have our place. It is closely linked to the Cosmic Wheel and to your path of life, and we are going to discover it, among many other things ...

We are going on a special journey together that lasts six months in total. It starts in September, in the dark half of the year, and after a break during the Holy Twelve Nights, it ends in the new year. We will focus on old crafts, learn to spin, work with wool, twine, making and securing threads and dyeing them with natural materials. In addition, you will of course also receive theory, about the material itself, about the wool, about dealing with material that comes from an animal, honoring the animal and about the history of textiles in a ritual context.
We look at the symbolics from ancient stories that are about spiders and threads, at the sagas in which women weave fate, at the Three Ladies we see all over Europe and deal with braiding and the Source of Origin.
The Way of the Web weaver is a special path that gives you the handles to weave ritual textile work into your life. You learn about the inspiration of your materials and your creations, and you start to make consciously inspired objects. In this way you will be taught a practical, powerful manifestation technique that will allow you to be more connected to the Life Web.
You will receive personal guidance during this half year, a Facebook group in which you can share your creations and a cool excursion on one of the days (to be announced).
